Hi, I’m Su Anderson
I didn’t grow up eating kale and quinoa. My childhood diet was the Standard American Diet — fast food, microwave meals, and barely a green vegetable in sight. Food wasn’t something we thought about in terms of health; it was just about getting through the day. On top of that, addiction in my family brought a lot of stress and unpredictability from a young age. When you’re living in survival mode, nutrition usually takes a back seat.
I grew up in Florida and went to university in Syracuse, New York, where I studied photojournalism and anthropology. Nutrition was never part of my education or upbringing, so I was completely unprepared when health issues began to pile up.
Living with undiagnosed ADHD made life interesting. I had to work a million times harder than my peers just to keep up — often feeling exhausted, frustrated, and behind. The constant stress affected not only my brain but my whole body, leading to digestion problems, inflammation, and low energy.
Before I became vegan, I was dealing with lactose and gluten intolerances, weight struggles, and a digestive system that was far from healthy. It took me years to start healing my body, and the turning point came when I went plant-based. Cutting out dairy and focusing on nutrient-rich foods helped me stop taking PPI medication for my laryngopharyngeal reflux and gave me more energy and clarity than I’d had in years.
After struggling with my menstrual cycle following coming off birth control, my body took a serious hit. I discovered that my ovaries weren’t functioning properly, which had a huge impact on both my mental and physical health. Feeling lost and frustrated without clear answers, I knew I had to take control — that’s when I decided to go back and study nutrition.
This journey sparked a deep passion for nutrition, brain health, and helping others who face similar struggles — whether that’s brain fog, lack of energy, gut issues, or simply feeling stuck in poor health. As a registered nutritional therapist, I now combine my personal experience with professional knowledge to support clients in optimising their vegan diets, improving brain function, and reclaiming their wellbeing.
I’ve been through the overwhelm, the confusion, and the frustration — and I’m here to guide you through it, helping you feel better in your skin and more like yourself again. ♡
